This half-term we have been learning about pitch. We have explored high and low pitch and used a game of “Do, Re, Mi” with actions to represent higher and lower sounds. The children then explored using musical notes and they have been learning how to play a song “Frere Jacques” on the xylophones.
As part of our outside renovations, we have had a music wall installed in our area. Children have loved using the beaters to make and hear different sounds on the recycled materials.
In Year 1 we have begun our new topic of old and new toys. We are focusing on what toys and life were like in the 1960’s. We had a disco to help us get a feel of the 60s. We had a great time dancing and listening to The Beatles on Mrs Carpenter’s record player. She even put on a groovy outfit too!
