One of our HLTAs is moving on to a new exciting adventure and so we are looking for a graduate or an experienced HLTA who is an outstanding team player to join our fantastic school. Predominantly, you will be covering PPA across the whole school but may be asked to cover staff absence, supporting in class, taking small groups and working 1-1 when necessary.
The successful candidate will ensure that children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We have fantastic facilities (including a cookery room, a hall, separate dance studio and two libraries) and we are committed to delivering a creative curriculum.
Many of our teaching assistants have used our school as a stepping stone into a career in teaching or speech and language or have been experienced teachers who have wanted to rekindle their love of teaching; this year five of our HLTA/TAs have moved into teaching/ teacher training. This post would be ideal experience for someone wanting to start their teacher training in Sept 2021; in the last three years we have supported three exceptional HLTAs through teacher training via our partner school in London.

Teaching Assistant – until the end of this academic year only
Key Stage 2 –27.5 hours per week, term time plus one week Scale D
There is opportunity to potentially supplement these roles with breakfast club from
7.45am, MSA duties, homework club until 4pm and/or cleaning duties.
We are looking for a hard working and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our
fantastic school. You may be a graduate wanting to gain experience for a career in
teaching, an experienced teaching assistant or someone with limited experience who
is passionate to work in schools.
The successful candidate will ensure that our older children are cared for in a happy,
safe and stimulating environment.
If you have:
Good organisational skills
A high level of written and oral skills
Confidence to deal with low-level disruption and more challenging behaviour
Been trained in Norfolk Steps (desirable)
Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
Buckets of patience and a consistent approach
High expectations of yourself and others
An understanding of child initiated learning
A “muck in” and “can do” approach
A positive attitude and sense of humour
A love of dogs (we have school dogs who work across the school) and
chocolate (always in the top drawer for those more difficult days)
