Teaching Assistant– temporary appointment required ASAP until end of academic year (July 2020)  

 25 hours a week- Mon – Friday. Additional MSA hours may be available.

We are looking for a hard working and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our fantastic school. You may be a graduate wanting to gain experience for a career in teaching or social work, an experienced teaching assistant or someone with limited experience who is passionate to work in schools. This would also suit undergraduates on a job share basis.

You will initially be working in a Year 4 or 5 class, working 1-1 or in small groups with children who may be finding the learning environment challenging.

The successful candidate(s) will ensure that children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We have great facilities and are committed to delivering a creative curriculum, planning for child initiated learning.

If you have:

  • Good organisational skills
  • A high level of written, oral and maths skills
  • Confidence to deal with low-level disruption and more challenging behaviour
  • Been trained in Norfolk Steps (desirable)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
  • High expectations of yourself and others
  • An understanding of child initiated learning
  • A “muck in” and “can do” approach
  • A positive attitude and sense of humour
  • A love of dogs (we have school dogs who work across the school) and chocolate (always in the top drawer for those more difficult days)

FULL TIME YEAR1 CLASS TEACHER – MATERNITY COVER

We are seeking a Y1 teacher to cover a maternity leave from 1stMarch to 31stAugust 2020.

Ideally you will be familiar with Read Write Inc and a mastery approach to maths. You will be working in a year team of three classes and you will have PPA together.

We have some great resources and facilities – a cookery room, two libraries, a dance studio and school dogs. We are embracing the mastery approach to learning across the curriculum and are keen to further develop sport, the “Arts” and languages.
