Year 4 Outdoor Learning
This week lots of our Year 4 pupils have been creating shelters as part of their outdoor learning provision. They worked hard to develop their communication and construction skills. Take a look at the photos of what they have been up to!
Den building
Year 2 children have enjoyed outdoor learning, making mini dens using natural materials and resources. We saw brilliant creativity and imagination as well as super team work!
“I’m trying to make a roof so it can be stable. I thought this could be a washing line.”
“This is keeping it up by the peg. The line is keeping it tight so it stays up. That (stone) is going to be the door so we can open and close it.”
“We’re trying to make a trap. That’s a camera that can turn into a TV.”

Year 1 Toy Café
Join the Year 1 team as they host a very special Toy Café. Listen as Mrs. Walden reads you a story and Miss Stephens shows you how to make your very own toy at home.
The activity should be done with parents/carers. Children will be coming home with resources (including the split pins) today (3rd December 2020).

Being creative in Year 2
This week, we learned about how light is important to Hindus and Jewish people. We learned all about the festival of Diwali and we created our own diva lamps. We also learned about Judaism and the history of Hanukkah and created our own menorah. We thought about what materials we could use to create each and had fun using salt dough to mould our diva lamps. Once they were cooked and set, we chose bright colours and glitter to make them eye catching.

Traditional Tales

In Reception this half term we have been exploring traditional tales. The children have really enjoyed learning about The Three Little Pigs this week after finding sticks and straw in a taped off area of the playground. Miss Compton’s class even found wolf footprints heading towards their classroom door! The children have enjoyed creating pig masks to help with learning and retelling the story.
