Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent cafe in year 1. We read a copy of ‘Traction Man’ by Mini Grey, before creating our own superhero car using loo rolls, split pins and coloured card.

Art club used acrylic paint to decorate rocks they found in the school playground. See if you can spot them as we hide them in locations around Queen’s Hill.
If you find one, hide it in a new location for another person to find.

We’re delighted to announce that we have been awarded an Artsmark Gold Award.
Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools and education settings, awarded by Arts Council England. The Artsmark award provides a clear framework for teachers and education professionals to plan, develop and evaluate their arts and cultural provision.
We were commended for our level of commitment to providing a range of high quality arts and cultural experiences for pupils and our work in raising the profile of the arts across the school.

Year 1 had a brilliant trip to the Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell today. All children got to make their own toys and explored a range of different toys from the past.

Today we marked remembrance day with a whole school service led by our year 6 pupils. We were joined by members of the community, ex-servicemen who work in our school and our school governing body.

This week year 1 invited a special visitor into school. Miss. Phillips’ grandma came into school to talk to all of year 1 about the toys she played with when she was young. The children asked some really interesting questions and we’re fascinated to find out more about toys from the past.
Year 2 enjoyed making alien headwear for Beegu this afternoon. We followed instructions carefully and were really creative!

This week our children enjoyed problem solving using the part part whole model.

n topic this week, we ordered the photographs chronologically from Amelia Earhart’s photo album. We had to work as detectives and look closely at her face in the photographs. Here are some photographs from our lesson:
