Year 6 Science Trip

17th October 2018

Norwich Science Festival

Year 6 went on a trip today to the Norwich Science Festival. They attended a session called, ‘Fireworks: Real science or just big bangs?’ They learnt all about the job of a pyrotechnic and how science is used to make fireworks. They had a brilliant time and returned to school so excited to continue with their learning in science!

Home Learning in Year 2

Year 2 have been working so hard on their homework this term. This is only a small collection of their fantastic efforts.

First Class is Coming Soon!

We had a photographer from the Eastern Daily Press take a photo of all of the Reception children for inclusion in the ‘First Class Supplement’. It will be published in the Norwich Evening News on the 18th October.

Parent Library

We’re opening up our well-stocked research library to parents every Thursday afternoon from 2.30 – 3pm. Come along, meet with our school librarian, choose a book to read with your child, and browse our range of books for adults from our parent library. We look forward to seeing you there.

The library will remain open every Thursday until 3.30pm so that you can also come along with your child.

Harvest Assembly

The hall was full of singing this morning as we had our harvest assembly. Many thanks to parents, pupils and staff for all the generous donations of food.

Reception Stay and Play

Reception parents were invited into class today. They joined in with a range of craft and construction activities related to the theme of harvest.

Miss Kerrison and Mr Cross were asked to judge the scarecrow competition. Well done to Betty, the winning scarecrow from Miss Compton’s Class!

Last Chance for Harvest Donations

Thank you for all your food donations so far. There’s still time to make a donation before our Harvest assembly on Friday. The donations box can be found in the front entrance of the school.

All food is going to the Norwich foodbank UK

We’ve Won Gold!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve just been awarded gold status for our work on the All Together Programme. The Project works to reduce bullying and improve the well-being of pupils in school.

We’re continuing to develop the programme this year to ensure Queen’s Hill remains a happy environment for all, where bullying is not tolerated.

Nursery Taster Sessions

We are holding three taster sessions between now and the end of the academic year to allow you and your child the chance to see what our Nursery is like, ask questions and try some activities. You’ll also have the opportunity to look through some current ‘Learning Journey books’ which will give you a flavour of what you could expect your child to do and learn whilst with us, if they get a space at our Nursery.

Download the leaflet with dates of all upcoming sessions

Download our nursery policy for more information on admissions
