Don’t forgot to post on Tapestry all of the amazing learning you are doing at home.

F-r-e-d talk games

Have a go at some F-r-e-d talk games at home. In phonic lessons we have a frog called Fred. Fred only talks in sounds. An example, s-t-ay the word is stay or sh-ow the word is show.

Fred talk games are helpful to identify the sounds in words.

Ideas

In my Fridge there is h-a-m, ch-ee-se, m-i-l-k.

In my garden there is a b-a-ll, g-r-a-ss

In my bedroom there is a b-e-d, a s-k-ir-t

You can make a Fred talk game about anything.

‘Belly Buddies’ mindfulness breathing exercise

During busy times, it is important to take a moment to be calm. Here is a simple breathing activity for children and parents to do at home. All you need is your favourite soft toy!

Belly Buddies

Find a space with limited noise or distractions, such as your child’s bedroom. Lie down on a soft surface with your legs and arms spread wide and your palms facing down. Take your favourite soft toy and place it on top of your belly button. As you take a deep breath in, count “1, 2, 3” and watch as your toy rises up with your belly. Repeat as you breathe out, counting “1, 2, 3” and watch as your toy sinks down. Repeat 5 times or more. You may wish to add relaxing music. Reception Timetable

Use this timetable to help create routine. Children might want to wear their school uniform to get in the ‘learning zone’. In Early Years, children learn through play and experiences. Our timetable is only a guide.
