Nursery transition week w/c 7th September

We are really looking forward to welcoming the nursery children into school next week!

You should have previously received a letter via email, with details of your child’s two transition sessions. The transition sessions will last for 1 and a half hours each and there will be a smaller number of children. Due to current restrictions parents are not able to attend the sessions and we are asking you to leave your child with us at the nursery gate. We will be happy to give you a call and let you know how they have settled.

Plant a magic bean with Miss Wright

Hello everybody!

Our new words for this week are ‘grow’ and ‘planting.’ I had a go at planting my own bean like Jasper the cat! This means that I have put the bean in some soil so that it can grow. Can you have a go at planting your own bean?

You will need:
– runner bean seeds
– a small plant pot
– soil
– a garden tool for scooping (a tablespoon or cup also work fine!)

Make sure you keep your pot in a sunny spot and water the bean every day. This will help it to grow!

Don’t worry if you can’t plant your own bean at home, as I will be posting a picture of my bean plant every week.

Happy planting!
From Miss Wright 🙂

Nursery Artwork

This week in Nursery we have been looking for shapes in the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy. The children have then created their own pieces using different shapes.

A New Display

Nursery and Reception children have been busy exploring different types of transport for the school topic ‘On The Move’ as they have been settling into school. We think you’ll agree their mark making looks fantastic! Make sure you check out the display outside Papillons Rouges.
