Parent Cafes

Queen’s Hill Primary and Nursery School has regular Story, Reading and Maths Parent Cafes throughout the school term for all ages.  We hold these events at different times of the day to give all parents the opportunity to attend with the aim to enable and empower parents to support their children’s learning. The Parent Cafe format is to enjoy a story and do an activity with their child as well as meet with other parents in their child’s year group, refreshments are also provided.  Our Parent Cafes are always well attended and enjoyed by both children and parents with lots of positive feedback. We also hold Work share in KS1 which allows you to come in and have the opportunity to see the work we have been doing in class.

Below are examples of some of our Parent Cafes:

Nursery Story Cafe – “The House that Jack built” – Bob the Builder Party

Reception Reading Cafe – “Hungary Caterpillar” – counting activity

Key Stage One – “Red Riding Hood” – story sharing with mask making craft activity

Reception and Key Stage One – “Bedtime Cafe” – story sharing, craft activity of dream catcher and discussion on bedtime routines
