HIgher Level Teaching Assistant- GR9005

Scale F  37 hours a week ( term time plus 1)  

We are looking for an outstanding team player to join our fantastic school. You will be required to work from Nursery through to Year 6; you will be covering PPA and staff absence, supporting in class and taking small groups and working 1-1 to support challenging behaviour.

The successful candidate will ensure that children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We have fantastic facilities (including a cookery room, a hall, separate dance studio and 2 libraries) and we are committed to delivering a creative curriculum.

Many of our teaching assistants have used our school as a stepping stone into a career in teaching or speech and language.  This is post would be ideal experience for someone wanting to start their teacher training in Sept 19.

If you are interested please demonstrate the following essential qualities through your application form:

Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
Experience of working in a primary school
An understanding of child initiated learning
Excellent literacy skills (handwritten and using IT)
Confidence (the teacher and teaching assistant work as a team and you will be covering absence and some PPA sessions across the school)
Speech and language experience (desirable)
Knowledge and understanding of working with autistic children (desirable)
Knowledge and understanding of working with visually and/or hearing impaired children(desirable)
An understanding of outdoor learning (desirable).

Lunchtime Playworker

Scale C

Hours: 1 hour a day 12-1 plus ½ hour prep; term time only

Do you enjoy playing games? We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our lunchtime team. You will ensure that the children have a variety of activities to play with over the week, ensure resources are put out and put away, play WITH the children by modelling how to win and lose. If the idea of parachute games, table tennis, rounders, stuck in the mud and other games excites you, get in touch!

The successful candidate will ensure that children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We have fantastic facilities and are committed to all children having a successful playtime.

If you have:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
  • Experience of working with children
  • Knowledge of a range of games
  • A “muck in” and “can do” approach
  • A positive attitude and sense of humour!
  • A love of the outdoors as you will be outside daily
