Required from 1st January 2019

Teaching Assistant (temporary for two terms)

  • 27.5 hours per week, termtime plus one week Scale D

We are looking for a hard working and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our fantastic school. You will  ideally be a graduate wanting to gain experience for a career in teaching or an experienced teaching assistant.  

The successful candidates will ensure that children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We have great facilities and are committed to delivering a creative curriculum, planning for child initiated learning.

If you have:

  • A passion to make a positive difference to children’s lives
  • Experience in building relationships with “hard to reach” children
  • Strong skills in Maths and English
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
  • High expectations of yourself and others
  • Experience of working with children
  • An understanding of child initiated learning
  • A “muck in” and “can do” approach
  • A positive attitude and sense of humour!
  • And a love of dogs (we have school dogs who work across the school) and chocolate (always in the top drawer for those more difficult days)

We can offer you the opportunity to work across a variety of years. Many of our teaching assistants have used our school as a stepping stone to starting a career in teaching or speech therapy.
