Graduate HLTA EYFS

  • Salary: Scale F – actual salary £18,486.68 – £20,410.78 (£21,589 – £23,836 FTE)
  • Permanent
  • Full Time – 37 hours per week
  • Term time plus one week
  • Required for September 2019

We are looking for a graduate HLTA who is an outstanding team player to join our fantastic school. You will be attached to EYFS but may be required to work from Nursery through to Year 6; you will be covering PPA and staff absence, supporting in class and taking small groups and working 1-1 to support challenging behaviour.

The successful candidate will ensure that children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We have fantastic facilities (including a cookery room, a hall, separate dance studio and 2 libraries) and we are committed to delivering a creative curriculum.

Many of our teaching assistants have used our school as a stepping stone into a career in teaching or speech and language; during 2018/19 we have had 5 HLTAs who have moved into teaching/ teacher training. This post would be ideal experience for someone wanting to start their teacher training in Sept 2020; we have supported two exceptional HLTAs through teacher training this year based at Queen’s Hill and our partner school in London.

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
  • Experience of working in a primary school
  • An understanding of child initiated learning
  • Excellent literacy skills (handwritten and using IT)
  • Confidence (the teacher and teaching assistant work as a team and you will be covering absence and some PPA sessions across the school)
  • Speech and language experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with autistic children (desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with visually and/or hearing impaired children (desirable)
  • An understanding of outdoor learning (desirable)
  • Experience of working in EYFS (desirable)

EYFS Teacher

NOR 460 + 26fte

  • Full time
  • Temporary to cover maternity leave – one year
  • Would suit an NQT
  • Required from 1st September 2019

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and passionate EYFS teacher to join our fantastic team. This post is to cover a maternity leave from 1st September and is likely to be for one year.  As we continue to be a growing school there may be the chance for this post to become permanent.

You will be:

  • A current or aspiring Early Years teacher who is able to make learning fun, with an understanding of the need for balance between child led and adult directed learning
  • Familiar with or willing to learn about “Talk for Writing” techniques and with how to deliver a “mastery” curriculum
  • Committed to engaging in the whole life of our school – not just the “classtime”
  • Hard working, flexible and a good communicator – especially with parents and carers
  • Keen to be part of a team, prepared to constantly review your practice and always be striving for excellence
