Can you try Miss Wright’s challenge and go on a “heavy” or “light” hunt? See if you can write a “h” for the “heavy” objects and an “l” for the “light” objects. You could use kitchen scales, or you could have a go at making your own scales!
To make a set of DIY balance scales, all you need is:
– A children’s clothes hanger with notches – 2 x paper cups – String – Scissors
1. Cut two pieces of string equal in length.
2. Make two separate holes in the cups and tie the string through the holes to create a handle.
3. Hang the cups over either side of the clothes hanger.
4. Hang your scales from somewhere that they can swing easily.
Don’t forget to take a picture of your hunt and put it on Tapestry!
Here is your learning for the following week, you can also find it on Tapestry. We will be uploading daily phonics videos as well as one other video per day at least on Tapestry. We would love you to show us your learning by uploading pictures and videos.
Watch the videos to help you understand some of this week’s literacy learning jobs from the learning pack for this week. You don’t need to do them all in one go!
⭐️ Draw a picture of a whale or snail and write sentences inside with the things they saw on their journey.
⭐️ Design a rescue poster for the whale. Make sure to include where the whale is, what the problem is and whether the people will need to bring any tools. You could add a picture at the top.
⭐️ What animal would you want to travel on? Draw a picture of it and then label why it would be good to travel on. Challenge: Write about your animal using full sentences.
⭐️ There is lots of rhyming in the story. Can you find the rhyming words? Challenge: Can you think of other words that rhyme with the words from the story?
Check the learning pack for more tasks for the week.
Wake up, shake up, and welcome in the new day with this funky warm-up called ‘Wiggle Jiggle!’
Can you learn how to sing and do the body percussion for this song?

Watch the video to help you understand one of this week’s maths activities from the learning pack for this week. You don’t need to do them all in one go!
⭐️ Count out ingredients to make a magic potion to turn you super! You could use water, food colouring, bubble bath, leaves and petals, glitter etc. Write or draw how much of each ingredient you need for your potion. Do you need a magic spell to go with it? Which super powers will you have?
